PLANETS, SUN, & MOON | PAGE NAVIGATION
The planets are how the energy gets expressed.
They’re the vehicles.
The Luminaries are the Sun and the Moon, which reveal core energy.
The Inner Planets are Mercury, Venus and Mars. This energy is personal. It’s the energy we ourselves exert.
The Outer Planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Outer Planets are less in our direct control and less personalized.
Note: We’re not getting into aspects (aspects reveal how the planets interact with one another) in this workshop, however if you notice that two or three or even more planets or luminaries are making an aspect to another, that will color how the energy is expressed. However, it’s important to understand the fundamentals before layering in the aspects.
Ok, now let’s explore the Chart Ruler. The Chart Ruler is the planet that rules our Ascendant/Rising Sign. This is important to note because it’s a focal point of the chart and has great influence over the native.
The Sun is how we shine in the world. It’s our core expressive energy. It’s not what we do, but how we do it, our lens. The Sun spends 30 days in each sign. So, for example, let’s say we have our Sun in Pisces. We are going to shine when we’re being compassionate, sensitive and attuned to the multidimensional aspects of the Universe.
How do I express my Sun sign?
What are the positive traits of my Sun sign?
What is the shadow of my Sun sign?
Can I own the shadow of my Sun sign?
What house is my Sun in? Do I shine in that area?
The Moon is our emotional landscape. It’s our needs. Not our wants or desires, but our needs. These cannot be rationalized or negotiated away. The Moon spend 2.5 days in each sign. So, let’s say our Moon is in Taurus, we are going to crave and need stability, predictability and comfort where as if we have our Moon in Sagittarius we are going to crave and need a sense of exploration and adventure, either literally or figuratively.
What are the qualities of my Moon sign?
What judgments, if any, do I hold against these qualities?
Can I release them?
How can I continue to feed and honor my Moon?
What House is my Moon in?
Do I honor that my needs must be fed in this area of life?
Inner planets reveal our personal approach to the world.
Mercury reveals our thoughts and our communication style. Mercury, when not retrograde, spends roughly one month in each sign. So, let’s say we have Mercury in Libra, we are going to think about others and our communication may be more diplomatic, where as if we have Mercury in Capricorn our thoughts are going to focus more on our goals and our communication will tends towards the pragmatic.

Venus reveals what we’re attracted to, our values and how we attract. Venus, when not retrograde, spends roughly one month in each sign. Venus is also crucial in understanding how we manifest and call in a partner. Venus in Aries, for example, will attract through its enterprising and fearless nature. This sign will love the chase and the game. It’s also the kind of women we’re attracted to and how we express our feminine nature. Venus represents our desires, but not our needs (which is represented by the Moon)
What are the qualities of my Venus sign?
Do I value these qualities?
Do I attract or seduce with these qualities?
Do I believe I am worthy of attracting (love + money), given these qualities? Meaning, do I find these qualities attractive in myself?
If no, am I willing to acknowledge that these qualities are worthy of love and abundance?

Can I see how I attract in this area of life with the qualities listed above?

Mars reveals how we go after what we want, our drive and our sexuality. Mars spends roughly 6 weeks in each sign. So, for example, if we have Mars in Virgo, we are going to be very detail oriented in our tactics, though we may miss the forest for the trees, we’ll be incredibly thorough. It’s how we express our masculine energy and the kinds of men we are attracted to.

Do these qualities reveal what motivates and drives me?

Do I allow myself to employ the tactics that come most naturally to me or do I fight myself?

Outer planets reflect circumstances seemingly beyond our control. Due to the length of time it takes Uranus, Neptune and Pluto to travel the zodiac, they’re considered generational and are more deeply felt when making an aspect to a personal planet or point. Since we are not addressing aspects in this workshop, I’m only going briefly touch upon them below.
Jupiter reveals where we experience growth and expansion. Jupiter spends roughly 13 months in each sign. We experience a Jupiter Return every 12-13 years.

Can I see how these qualities reveal where I grow and expand?
What House is my Jupiter in?
Can I see how I continue to grow and expand naturally in this area of life, where I experience blessings?

Saturn reveals our karmic lessons + the hurdles we must overcome. Saturn spends roughly 2.5 years in each sign. And we experience our Saturn Returns at about 29 + 58. The Saturn Return occurs when Saturn returns to the point it was at our birth. This is a highly significant moment that can last anywhere from a month to almost a year, depending on whether or it occurs within a retrograde period. During this period, we are called to mature. No matter what occurs, it’s an opportunity for us to confront our fears and center ourselves in ourselves and in our backbone. Again we’re not getting into transits in this workshop, but the focus point of the Saturn Return can be deduced by answering and exploring the questions below.
